Why did my iPhone is got stuck and show iPhone Black Screen?

Your iPhone can get stuck even when you turn it on. The display becomes unresponsive and turns black. And this is why it is called the “Black Screen of Death” because the touch features also fail to respond. The issue occurs because of multiple reasons. For example:

  1. An overheated iPhone
  2. Low iPhone battery
  3. Unstable applications running in the background
  4. iOS or software update issues
  5. Physical damage
  6. Water damage

So here are a few steps you can follow to solve the black screen problem.

  1. Remove Outer Cover

It could be your iPhone’s protective covering or case blocking the ventilation, and, as a result, your device is overheated. Therefore, remove the cover and check if it still shows the black screen.

  1. Force Restart

If the previous step doesn’t work, try force restarting your iPhone. Sometimes minor software glitches become the reason for the black screen display. So, when you force restart your device, the glitches are automatically resolved.

Here’s how you can force restart your iPhone 8 or the recent models:

  • Press your iPhone’s “Volume Up” button
  • Then hold your phone’s “Volume Down” button and quickly release it
  • Press and hold your iPhone’s “Side” button and wait for the Apple logo to display

You can also force restart older models, like iPhone 6, 7, or 7 Plus:

  • Press and hold the “Volume Down” and “Side (Top)” button
  • Release buttons once the Apple logo is seen on the screen
  1. Quickly Charge Your iPhone

After performing the force restart, chances are that your iPhone’s battery drains and causes the iPhone black screen problem. So, immediately charge your device for about 30 minutes (minimum) to prepare your iPhone for the next steps.

  1. Remove Unnecessary Heavy Applications Causing Glitches

Remember all the apps that caused glitches when you were using your iPhone. Go to the App Store and update those apps if you haven’t already because that may solve the issue. However, the best thing is to remove such applications from your phone that you don’t need.

  1. Check for OS Updates

Up-to-date iPhone software is a great way to save yourself from experiencing the black screen problem. To do that:

  • Go to “Settings”
  • Tap on “General”
  • Tap on the “Software Update” option

Here you will see your current iOS version. Besides, you will also be able to update your OS to a newer version (if available). Make sure to update the software to fix bugs. As a result, the latest update may also remove the black screen problem.
